The Chapel Committee of WCC, consisting of 11 members, reunited through virtual platforms to pray, organise, and conduct events for the year 2020-2021.

Since the lockdown, the committee members have engaged in praying for COVID-19 patients all over the world. During these months, the members came together twice a week for special prayers. The concerns presented in the prayer points included the health and safety of frontline workers, recovery of COVID-19 patients, the economy of our country, and the promotion of peace and integrity among nations. In the month of November, the committee drafted a new set of weekly plans. The members designed posters and undertook effective circulation of messages to the department representatives ensuring that all students were well-informed of the various programs.

The committee members unite to pray on the first day of every week. On Tuesdays, Mrs Rita Arjun D engages with the students through a Bible study fellowship from 5.00 to 5.45 pm. The Shishya Team, a Chennai-based Gospel organisation, in collaboration with the Chapel Committee, leads a virtual session of worship between 5.30 pm and 6.30 pm on Wednesdays. Ms Suman Jonathan, from New Life AG Chennai, conducts interactive sessions of Bible study supported with practical life every Thursday. Friday sessions, titled ‘Activity Chapel,' engage students with fun games. Ann, the Chairperson for Religious Life (WCC) comments, “As taxing as it is, we're glad that this year is widening the committee's boundaries to unexplored paths and strengthening our dependence on God.”

The committee has commenced planning for one of the cardinal events of the year - ‘White Gifts Day’. The members are finalizing distinct ideas to raise funds and donations within and beyond the horizons of the college to contribute to organisations that cater to the needy. The members also look forward to coalescing with groups such as Student Christian Movement (SCM) and SHOFAR, WCC, for 'White Gifts Day.'
